.Superb Sunday.

..oh gosh where did e week go? suddenly it's sunday again..woke up this morning at 7am and stumbled into the toilet blurry-eyed and stuffed-nose..cracked a few knuckles, shat and brushed teeth before i lay back in bed again..and e next thing i knew, it was 9:55am.."bloody hell," like lise always says...rushed to take a hot bath and to the car (stuffing two pratas+1 pau into my mouth while at it) and rushed to pick up dearest lise..we made it to church just after e first worship song..-sigh- worship was..lovely, to say the least..lemme do a cover version again of the sermon today..(i think this is what attracts Rhythm, so enjoy, my good fren!)..and as usual, in lu's world, everthing is always interesting because he has SPM - selective photographic memory..here goes..

Sometime ago, a mountaineer was asked this question after he scaled Everest : "Despite all tthe danger and risks involved, why do you still choose to climb mountains?" His answer was simple, as it is true : "Because they are there."

Everything in life requires the 3 essential 'C's - Courage, Care and Commitment. "Ok..so commitment and care are fair enough answers..but what's courage got to do with Christianity..or the mountaineer's answer for that matter?" you might ask. My question is - what is Courage in Christianity to you? To dare to step up when there's alter call? To dare to stand infront of the entire congregation and share a testimonial? To lead a friend in prayer? To play for the 10.30am Sunday Service worship group? To dare sing loudly, albeit out of tune during service?
No.
Courage is the ability to overcome fear. We all fear something in our lives - pain, blood, heights, cockroaches, wives, etc..but ALL of us are born with one common fear - Failure. We are all afraid of being rejected, or losing, or being disadvantaged, that's human nature. But courage is knowing that THAT fear exists, and being able to face it and say,"Piss off!!!!" To dare to take that step across that line, across that mindset and across the comfort zone and see what we can do. Just like the mountaineer, he knew that the mountain was helluva high, and helluva cold and obviously helluva dangerous. But still he climbed it..why? Because he dared to face his fears and at least attempt to overcome them.
How many times, when we pray, do we say,"..and God, please take away this thing that is troubling me.."? Whatever the thing might be - a tough exam, sickness, finance difficulties, etc. Have you ever asked God to take away the problem? I know i did..because i always thought that was the logical thing to do - to ask God to remove the problem so that i wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. But what are we doing here?
We're facing the mountain, and because we're afraid to climb it, we choose to ask him to remove it for us.
My readers..i don't know if that sentence hit you as hard as it did me..but i leave you with a question and a thought..that if a day comes when you are faced with a difficult situation, hopefully it might just help pull you through. "Are problems in life there to be solved or removed?"
"Courage is in seeking God's true glory."
..i'm out..got massage.
